convert technologies plato class A

Racks of black boxes are becoming a minority choice nowadays, and more and more music lovers are looking to all-in-one systems that can provide everything they need. Unfortunately, most solutions tend to be aimed at the budget market, with very few catering for the more discerning listener. Plato, by Midlands company Convert Technologies, is one such system, but also has some extras up its sleeve...

Whilst Plato is an immensely flexible system, it is insanely simple to use. With the ability to easily store CDs, transfer digital downloads, and even rip your record collection with full metadata to its onboard 2TB storage, you'll no longer need any physical media taking up shelf space in your living room. Any of this stored media can then be streamed to multiple media devices around your home (DLNA and UPnP devices). All album data can be easily edited via the Plato control app - no need for a PC!

The HighResDownloads app allows you to purchase and download music directly to the Plato's 2TB hard drive. TuneIn Internet Radio gives access to tens of thousands of worldwide radio stations. With a subscription, TIDAL - currently the highest quality music streaming service available - gives you access to over 40 million tracks and around 200,000 HD music videos, the Plato being one of the best equipped systems out there to take advantage of the latter. Qobuz streaming is also available, as is the streaming world's largest catalogue of online music - Spotify - both with a subscription.

Plato provides four analogue RCA inputs, one of which is a switchable Moving Magnet / Moving Coil phono input. A pair of RCA outputs allow the addition of bigger amplification, should the need arise. On the digital side, there is one coaxial  input, three optical inputs, with two optical digital outputs for flexibility. Three USB connections allow back up, file transfer, and storage expansion. An ethernet connection allows network connection, and finally a HDMI output gives the option of using your TV as a large display, playback of DVD or video streaming material. All inputs are user configurable, and can be tagged with unique icons and names.

Plato can be fully controlled via its large touch sensitive front fascia display, or via the supplied Kindle Fire tablet. An Android compatible Air Mouse can also be used for control purposes.

Plato Class A utilises Class A amplification technology for the most organic audio quality available. This approach is naturally less efficient so produces more heat, but gives the best possible sound quality. Comes supplied with mains lead, HDMI cable, Kindle Fire and portable USB DVD drive for data transfer.
